Jack’s Kitchenette (or Restaurant) is a local restaurant in Baguio City as well as in La Trinidad. If you happen to go to Baguio City and want something local, you should try it here rather than eating AGAIN in Jollibee, McD’s, or similar junkyards. The price is fair enough. One meal is below 100.00 pesos (around 75.00, I think) and you get a huge serving. Try their brewed coffee with milk, too. It just tastes great, but you have to know that the restrooms are located at the far end of the mall. I’m not saying that the food served here have gazillions of germs. Hell, we have germs everywhere! It’s just that the coffee has its magic when you’re constipated.

The place is always full especially at lunch time, so if you plan to eat here, plan an early or late lunch. Here are pictures of my plate.

I’ve collected a few pamphlets of room rates for you… actually, just two hotels. I didn’t have time to look for other hotels, okay. It was raining when I went up there so stop bitchin’.

Before anything else, let me make this dumb arse proof.

How do you get there by public transpo? You can take Victory Liner bus lines. AFAIK, there are two Victory bus stations here in Manila. One in Pasay and one in Cubao. I almost always take my bus at Pasay because it’s near my place. These bus stations are just along EDSA highway. If you see Grand Prix hotel, you’re sure that you are approaching the station.

 If you travel by day, it will take you 8-10 hours of travel, because of traffic. If you travel by night, it should take you 6-7 hours. Make sure to bring your jacket and cap because it’s going to be cold in the bus specially at night. Bring your barf bag too. I don’t know with you, but I don’t really like the smell inside the bus. It always makes me vomit.

Take note of your bus number. There are at least 3 stops along the way and these stops are stops for other buses as well. You’re lost if you don’t know your bus number. Maximize the use of your time during these stops. Go to the bathroom and let go of all the things that wanna go out of you as fast as you can. Freshen up and if you still have time, you can buy something to eat. Mind you, the food at the bus station as well as these stops costs gold, so you might want to consider bringing some snacks with you.

Now, when you’re finally in Baguio, the bus will unload passengers at the Victory bus station in Baguio. You will find that the bus station there looks more neat than the bus stations here in Manila. As you get off the bus, there will also be people asking you if you need a place to stay. Since, I have a place to stay there (my parents’), I never bothered to try asking what they offer. I don’t know if they’re safe anyway.

You’re probably dead tired already when you get there. If you’re desperate to get a place to stay, then there’s a hotel just beside the bus station. It’s the Microtel. I haven’t really visited that place or asked for their rates, but you can check it out yourself.

And now, the moment you’ve been waiting for… the room rates for Hotel Supreme and Hotel Veniz. Why do I post them? Because it’s hard to find room rates in the web and most often than not, they’re not updated. These leaflets were given to me on of June 1, 2009.

I did post the phone numbers right? If you’re not sure what room rates are waiting for you, just call those numbers. Don’t bother waiting for replies when you e-mail them. I e-mailed them asking for their rates and they didn’t bother reply. Grrr…

Hotel supreme is in the outskirts of the city so you’re sure that you won’t be bothered by too much noise while you’re still sleeping when the sun is already up. There are jeepneys plying here too. If you plan to go to the city proper, take a jeepney with a placard that says CENTER MALL. It will drop you off to a small (compared to SM) mall. I’ll discuss this mall soon here in my blog. Watch out for it! =)
